In the last 6 or so months, just about everybody and their grandmother has started up a Twitter account. They've used those precious 140-characters to tell the world all about their opinions, likes and dislikes, and views on everything from politics to movies, great restaurants to that one time they stubbed their big toe. Sure, a lot of Twitter posts are what Web folk would call "egocasting" -- just telling the world about yourself for the sake of telling the world...well, all about yourself. But more and more businesses are tapping in to the marketing power of this cool new medium, some with amazingly profitable results!
Fact: one tee-shirt company was able to ramp up sales by 6 figures! Fact: a real estate marketing firm out of New York generates hundreds of new leads a month! Fact: regular people like you and me have gained millions of followers just by sharing their views with the world! And all this with tiny, 140-character updates -- "tweets" -- that are taking the market by storm!
Twitter's not just a fly-by-night trend anymore: it's a sizable marketing venue, a kind of open-air market where people with a distinctive voice and a great opportunity to share can make a massive impact...provided they know the secrets to success on the site. Lots of Gano Excel affiliates are already leveraging this Web site for their own businesses -- now, we want to share 5 ways that you can take your budding Twitter account from fun hobby to a lead-generating, revenue-boosting machine!
Twitter Hint #1: FInd More Followers!
You can update your Twitter account 200 times a day, but it won't mean much if you don't have people reading what you post! Followers are the cash of Twitter: everybody wants more of them, only nobody seems to know the "secret formula" for finding them!
Well, here are some hints that can help you attract more followers on Twitter and share the news about Cafe 2.0 with even more people!
1. Get Your People "Retweeting!" This is so important! Encourage everyone who follows you already -- your friends, family, co-workers, and online buddies -- to retweet some of your best Tweets on their own page. By getting your followers to re-post the cool things you've written, you'll attract attention from their followers, who will re-post the cool thing they saw on their friend's page, which will attract their followers! (This ought to be pretty familiar for all you network marketers out there!)
The formula for a "retweet" goes like this:
RT @ganoexcelcoffee: New contest up on the blog! Check it out!
Now, notice that the "RT @username" part takes up a little bit of your 140-characters...so if you want your posts retweeted, then keep them short and to-the-point!
2. Use "Hash" Tags! "Hash" tags -- like #coffee, #networking, #marketing, #health, etc. -- help other Twitter users to find posts that interest them. When you're Tweeting about Gano Excel's amazing products and opportunities, make sure to include "hash" tags that are relevant to the topic you're posting about. For instance:
just had the best coffee of #coffee ever! it's called gano cafe!
or
#coffee that's good for your #health? it's true!
The power of the "hash" tag is that when people click on #'d word, they'll be taken to more tweets about the same topic. So that means that by crafting interesting tweets around popular tags, you can expose literally millions of people to Gano Excel!
3. Be Twitter-Aware "Offline!" Whenever you have a chance, tell people in real life about where they can find you on Twitter, Facebook, etc. There's still no marketing like bellybutton-to-bellybutton marketing!
4. Get Out There and Interact! Like all of the "new Internet," Twitter is a social medium -- meaning that in order to make an impact, you've got to interact with others! If somebody contacts you via Twitter, tweet back! Likewise, if you're browing Twitter accounts and see something you like, make sure to Tweet at the user. If your whole Twitter stream is just about the product and opportunity, without any attempts to interact with the larger Twitter world, you can be guaranteed not to find the followers you want. Get out there and communicate: show your fellow Tweeters that you're more than a marketer...you're also an engaged member of the online community!
5. Follow Other People! Don't be afraid of finding and following people who are similar to you, or say things you think are cool or interesting. Remember: to find more followers, you have to be an active member of the online community. And doing that means reaching out to people you admire, and getting them to follow you.
